Description: SUPER RARE VINTAGE 4.5X2.75 album page signed in ballpoint ink by Harold Edgerton adding, "MIT 1982." Comes with a 3.5X5.5 picture postcard. Rare in any form. (1903–1990) Harold Eugene "Doc" Edgerton was also known as Papa Flash. He was an American scientist and researcher, a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is largely credited with transforming the stroboscope from an obscure laboratory instrument into a common device. He also was deeply involved with the development of sonar and deep-sea photography, and his equipment was used by Jacques Cousteau in searches for shipwrecks and even the Loch Ness Monster. Described by National Geographic as "the man who made time stand still," Harold "Doc" Edgerton was an engineer and scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who developed a strobe flash that enabled him to photographically freeze the motion of a bird in flight, a bullet piercing an apple, the splash of a milk drop, and other high speed actions. Comes with a full Letter of Authenticity from Todd Mueller Authentics if the item sells for $10 and over.
