Description: A nice copy of the 10th UK printing of HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Priced to sell. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (HP and the Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, etc.) Hardcover First Edition - Tenth Printing London: Bloomsbury UK, 1999. ("10" shown by itself on the copyright page, indicating a 10th printing.) £10.99 cover price front flap. Cover art by Cliff Wright upon both the dust jacket and laminated boards. Same size as the first edition, 8 x 5.5 x 1", and same year as the first printing, 1999. Only HP and the Philosopher's Stone and HP and the Chamber of Secrets are listed as the previous novels of the series, and the copyright year is 1999. NOTE: This is NOT a Ted Smart, Raincoast-Canadian or an Australian edition. Near Fine+ in Near Fine Dust Jacket: A nice copy, with the typical age-toning to the text block which is common with these early HP editions printed prior to 2000. The dust jacket is pretty much intact, save for a tiny nick and associated edge-wear to bottom front edge, almost imperceptible, and another nick to the left-hand lower corner spine. Still a very nice copies as most copies of this edition have lots of condition issues. Because of the few condition short-comings, priced to sell. NOTE on the First Editions of the Harry Potter books: The true first editions/first printings of the first four Harry Potter books were issued by Bloomsbury UK from 1997 to 2000. In the early 2000's, Bloomsbury began reissuing the books in large print editions. They can be nice alternatives to the true first editions. This is in fact the only first UK hardcover printing with the original Cliff Wright artwork outside of the first hardcover edition issued in 1999 which these days is running about $1000 to $4000, depending upon which state.
