A First U.K. Softcover/Paperback Edition/Sixth Printing with the number line ending with "6".Please remember this is NOT the First Hardcover Edition, this is NOT the more common American Edition and this is NOT the First Printing of the Softcover/Paperback Edition. Some would classify this copy as a First Edition Thus, a First Edition/Later Printing, a First Edition/Early Printing and so on.We prefer to be as specific as possible with our classifications/descriptions which is why we refer to this copy as a First U.K. Edition/Sixth Printing. Regardless of ones' personal preference regarding to the classification, the most important thing to remember is this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing! This is the Sixth Printing of the First U.K. Softcover/Paperback Edition. This copy does, however, have ALL of the VERY RARE Errors which are present in the First Edition/First Printing! The First Printing Points/Errors that are present include... Joanne Rowling Copyright, later editions state J. K. Rowling.Dumbledore appearance with short BROWN hair, beard and moustache, later changed to grey.Page 15, "Potter's son", later changed to "Potters' son".Page 17, "I'll be takin' Sirius his bike back", later changed to "I'd best get this bike away".Page 31, removal of a comma at the beginning of a sentence.Page 52, "Beginners' Guide", later changed to "Beginner's Guide".Page 53, "wand" is repeated.Page 56, "seventeen sickles" later changed to "sixteen sickles".Page 72, "shiny silver badge" later changed to "shiny red and gold badge".Page 87, "Hogwarts, a History", later changed to "Hogwarts: A History".Page 92, "four hundred years", later changed to "five hundred years".Page 101, "head" later changed to "Head".Page 147, "to next day" later changed to "the next day".Page 168, "One Hundred" later changed to "One Thousand".Page 193, "that's the pub" later changed to "that's one of the pubs".Page 205, "I'll take one step forward" later changed to "I'll make my move". Unfortunately, this rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible wear!Normally, we wouldn't buy and certainly never sell a copy that has such extensive wear.We made an exception with this book simply because, even with such severe damage, it is quite scarce and highly desirable! The wear, however, is SUBSTANTIAL and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Here's the good news...The book has no internal writing, no foxing, no remainder marks and is NOT Ex-Libris. The iconic front cover and rear cover are present and are in fairly nice condition. Here's the bad news...Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/marks/wear to the front cover/rear cover/corners/spine, toning/discoloration to the pages and creases/marks/wear to some of the pages. The most unfortunate and significant wear affects some of the pages. Some of the pages are completely loose!A decent portion of the pages, we would estimate almost half of the pages, have become completely separated from the book! This is VERY important so we'd like to repeat that almost half of the pages are entirely separate from the book. They are a loose and no longer attached to the book.We have placed the loose/separated pages inside the book but we must say, once again, they are no longer attached to the book! Considering the scarcity and desirability of this copy, we strongly considered paying a conservationist to re-attach the pages. We even contemplated gluing them back into the book ourselves. We have a bit of experience with such restorations. In the end, we elected to leave the book as it is and simply articulate all of the wear as clearly and honestly as possible. If you were to purchase this book, our suggestion would be to have a professional re-attach the pages. If all of the pages were intact, this copy would be in relatively lovely condition, especially when considering there is no internal writing. With that said, all of the wear previously mentioned is still VERY clearly visible! The fact that almost half of the pages are loose/separate drastically affects the current value of this book. The wear is SUBSTANTIAL/EXTENSIVE and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration and if this copy was in better condition our asking price would be considerably higher!Once again, we want to reiterate one last time that the wear is EXTENSIVE/SUBSTANTIAL and VERY clearly visible! The wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection.Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!!Following the conclusion of the auction, payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed.Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
