Description: With this kit and the extras, you can build Sir Douglas Bader's Spitfire MK 5a sn w3185 from which Bader baled out of on 8 August 1941 over France. Bader was Wing Commander of the Tangmere Wing at the time and had a total of 22 confirmed kills. In his escape he left one of his artificial legs in the airplane and the other was damaged. the Germans notified the British and allowed them to drop him a new set. When I was in school in the 1950's in England he was one of my and my English friends heroes. I am currently 76 and I will never build all the models I have so I am thinning my to do list.
