This gravy boat is made in a very classical style, with a scrolled handle and gadrooned edges, raised on a pedestal base. The construction on this piece is just marvelous, very heavy and thick silver, quite sturdy overall. This is a high quality piece of English silver work, and would be an asset to any table or collection. This piece is hallmarked on the back by the handle with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter t for 1934, and the maker's mark for Wiliam Bruford & Son. The underside is also marked with 'Bruford & Son Exeter' and 'Hand-Wrought Silver'. This piece is in excellent condition.
