Very clean text throughout. A collection of Hanff's vignettes of New York life, originally broadcast on BBC Radio 4's 'Woman's Hour' between 1978 and 1984. Dedicated and signed by Helene Hanff to the half title page. Also inscribed to the blank facing the half title page by Arlene Wolff, Hanff's best friend who appears in several of the tales within this book. The recipient was a publisher's sales representative, and accompanying this book is a letter from the publisher Sheila Murphy. In the letter she relates how they brought Hanff to London to publicise the book, and how this copy was signed. A rare signed copy with excellent provenance. We have several other Helene Hanff volumes from this collection, containing signed bookplates that were provided with the letter, and also a signed early printing of '84 Charing Cross Road'.
