Description: Here's a lovely cup and saucer by Herend of Hungary in the popular "Rothschild Bird" pattern. Rothschild Bird, I believe, began production in the mid 1800s and is still being produced today. It features various bird motifs, along with insects, on a pure white body. An embossed basketweave band design decorates the rims and bodies all with gold trim. The different pieces are hand numbered and impressed. I believe the Herend mark on this set would indicate that it was likely produced between 1960 and 1990. This cup and saucer are both piece #724. The cup features motif 11, and the saucer features motif 7. The saucer measures 5 3/8" diameter. The cup measures 3 3/8" diameter and 2 1/8" tall at the rim. This set is in near mint, if not mint, condition. Neither piece has any chips, nicks, cracks or evident wear. I am listing 6 different cups and saucers, a creamer, a sugar, and a coffee pot.
