"Film Fan Monthly" from May 1968 with an in-depth profile on screen star Vera Ralston (1921 - 2003). Note: Ralston's birth year has been referenced as 1919, 1920, 1921, and 1923... leaving some speculation as to the correct year. Born in the Prague, Czechoslovakia, she won fame as a champion figure skater, competing in the 1936 Winter Olympics. She later moved to Hollywood under contract to Republic Pictures. She starred in films with John Wayne ("Dakota" and "The Fighting Kentuckian"), Fred MacMurray, and Erich Von Stroheim... eventually marrying Republic's studio head, Herbert Yates (1880 - 1966). The fanzine is 24 pages and was one of the earliest publications from editor and film critic, Leonard Maltin (born in 1950)... published only weeks before his high school graduation from Teaneck High School in New Jersey. Very good condition; and includes a thorough review of Ralston's film career. Measures 5.5" x 8.5"; and pictures an ad for the films of legendary stuntman Yakima Canutt on back cover.
