Each tachometer features an electronic movement and reset to 0 once they receive 12 volts of power. Works with factory points style ignition and GM HEI. Any aftermarket ignition may need a module or convertor to give correct signal. Important: When using aftermarket ignition systems like Pertronix MSD or Accel the voltage output to the tachometer lead is generally higher than what a factory tachometer can handle.
