THIS BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE HOUSTON TEXAS POLICE DEPARTMENT 1997 COMMEMORATIVE YEARBOOK IS A NICE MEMENTO. NOTE, THIS IS A LARGE AND VERY HEAVY YEARBOOK (NEARLY 5.0 LBS. BY ITSELF) THAT WAS PUBLISHED 27 YEARS AGO AND REMAINS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.For your consideration is this BEAUTIFUL edition of a HOUSTON TEXAS POLICE DEPARTMENT 1997 COMMEMORATIVE YEARBOOK. The yearbook measures approximately 12.25” tall, 9-3/8” wide and 1-3/16” thick and weighs approximately 5.0 pounds by itself. Refer to description photos #21, #22, #23 and #24 to confirm the weight and size and for more details about what I have described. The book has blue simulated leather grain textured hardboard covers. The front cover of the yearbook features (2) two different deeply embossed foil images of Houston Police Department badges. The top badge is the silver colored Patrolman badge and the bottom badge is a gold colored supervisor’s badge (Sergeant through Chief). Also deeply embossed across the middle of the front cover are the words and dates. “1841 HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT 1997”. Refer to description photos #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7 for more details about what I have described. The yearbook's spine is also deeply embossed with gold colored foil words and date "HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT 1997". The yearbook's covers remain in excellent condition showing very little if any wear despite being a nearly 28 year old book. Please refer to the description photos #2 and #7 to confirm the embossing described along the yearbook’s spine and for more information about what I describe. The yearbook contains a total of 400 numbered pages that all remain tightly bound within the book's gorgeous blue covers. The book features the history of the Houston Police Department as of 1997, the different investigative divisions and disciplines along with studio photographs of hundreds of civilian employees, civilian Directors, Patrolman, plain clothes police officers, Sergeants, Lieutenants and Captains, Assistant Chiefs and the Chief of Police. Also featured are numerous photographs of various H.P.D. equipment, patrol vehicles and the City of Houston. Please refer to the description photos to confirm the current condition of the yearbook and what I describe. The yearbook's internal pages all remain in excellent condition showing no signs of ever having any tears, curled or dog-eared corners and/or repairs. All the pages are tightly bound and secured with NO handwritten notations. Overall, this is a VERY NICE and most attractive commemorative piece of Houston Texas Police Department history and law enforcement memorabilia.
