Description: INTRODUCTION During the 1930's and 1940's, independent research into determining the power, harmony and discord of each horoscope factor was investigated by individuals and groups around the world. These wide-spread, independent researchers were Brotherhood of Light students. They used many approaches in an attempt to solve this problem. Their conclusions were mailed to Los Angeles, where Elbert Benjamine headed up the coordination and organization of the material. With the assistance of local students, he tested, applied and evaluated the material, adding new techniques until he came up with a system of measuring power, harmony and discord. I was fortunate to be one of the local students assisting in this work and have carried on a research into thousands of charts with their case histories ever since, especially in the projects on astrology and health which Edward Done and I conducted. For his system of measurement, Benjamine adopted the term astrodynes, which had been used since 1938 by astrological researcher, L. W. Dunsmoor. Benjamine expanded the astrodyne principle into harmodynes (har-mony) and discordynes (discord). I coined the term "Stellar Dynamics" in 1952 for my book, HOROSCOPES OF U.S. PRESIDENTS and, after employing it in many articles, used it in my compilation of the "Index to the 210 Brotherhood of Light Lessons'. My definition of Stellar Dynamics: Judging the relative power, harmony and discord of the four basic factors in the natal and progressed chart - planets, signs, houses and aspects - by employing astrodynes, harmodynes and discordynes. In 1971, the late Horace A. Howe, Ph.D., Director of Astro Numeric Service El Cerrito, California, came to me to see if his astrological computer service could offer a program of the calculated stellar dynamics. I was gung-ho for the idea, because it is not often that a professional astrologer has time to devote the twelve hours of mathematical calculations involved. The program was completed and many astrologers throughout the world are taking advantage of it today. Three years ago, he suggested that I write a manual on how to use cosmodynes, his term for stellar dynamics. So this volume goes forth in memory of my association with three of the greatest mental giants I have known - Elbert Benjamine (pseud., C. C. Zain), Edward Done and Dr. Horace A. Howe. This book is not directed to the astrology fan. It is written with the viewpoint that the reader understands how to interpret the basic natal chart and its progressions. Try applying the cosmodyne technique to reading horoscopes, which map the mental makeup of the native related to physical action. You will quickly establish beyond a doubt that cosmodynes provide a helpful measurement, not merely mathematical arti-facts. In your research, include the hereditary
