Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Howard Jones titled Dream Into Action, originally released in 1986 by Elektra Records as an EP with extended mixes and long versions of songs. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is machine stamped "Sterling" and with what appears to be a baseball, often mistaken for an "H" inside a circle, along with an upper case "S" with a smaller "R" and "C" inside its coils, followed by the matrix numbers A-1/B-2, indicating that this album was mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound of New York City, New York, before early stampers were used to make this record at Specialty Records Corporation's pressing plant located in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. I always put all my records directly into a protective inner sleeve, thus preserving the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have originally come with the release. The original inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint with shiny and bright surfaces without any surface scratches, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. It is play graded as Near Mint, without any pops, skips or surface noise from start to finish. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of ring wear, corner blunts, edge rubs and stress cracks along the spine. The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts and along the edges from rubs and stress cracking. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
