Huey P Long Circular - What is it they want to undo? (read description)

Description: The last two photos are from the Duke University archive for comparison only use and are not included in the sale. Item For Sale: 16" x 11" Two-sided circular letter, circa 1935. Side one has the headline "What is it they want to undo?" and goes into the accomplishments made by Huey Long and asks if the citizens want people in power who will undo those things. Side two has the headline "They must come to the mark" and delves into Long's "Share the Wealth" plan and ideals. Written by Huey P Long.Huey Long name as the author is print signed (not autographed) at the bottom of side 2, which is common for mass printed and copied materials. Condition issues consist of missing print/paper along the bottom edge and small tears along the folds. Both sides have a 25% darkening on the outer folded panel that was exposed to the light and air etc. There are no other copies available for sale or a record of any sales of this document we could find at this time. The only two we could find are in the Duke University archives and the Louisiana digital library. Both of those copies are complete but with red ink staining on one and writing on the other. Speaking with and showing the document to two paper experts here in Louisiana the opinions were that the document was worth between $500 and upwards of $1500 in the condition that it is due to its rarity. This was a circular, basically a flyer, that was of no cost and meant to be read and basically thrown away. How many were made and how many are left is anyone's guess.
