ILLINOIS A LINCOLN 21 JEWEL 16S RARE HUNTING CASE MODEL 8 POCKET WATCH MVT

Description: A. Lincoln HC Model 8 Illinois Watch Co. 16 size 21 jewel hunting case lever-set A. Lincoln pocket watch movement/dial/hands. A rare watch, the total production of this hunting case Model 8 version of the A. Lincoln is believed to be only 308 made. Movement is nicely finished with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold center wheel, and a narrow stripe pattern nickel damaskeen. Dial is double-sunk enamel with Arabic hour numerals, and dial feet are in correct Model 8 positions. Serial number is 2977840. Running but balance motion is very sluggish and I think likely this movement hasn't seen any type of servicing in many years. Nice looking movement cosmetically with some typical mild surface marks. Dial is beautiful with just a mild small dark line right of the 2 o'clock numeral that appears likely an as-made printing imperfection and with two tiny surface nicks in the area right of the 9 o'clock numeral.
