Imperial Chinese Officer Emperors Guard Short Sword w/ Carved Stone Handle

Description: Up for purchase is an exceedingly rare Imperial Chinese guard officer sword. From my research, these types of swords were used by the people who guarded the Emperor's palace. Handle is made of a carved green stone. I suspect that it is jade or a jade-like material, but I am not sure. Exterior of the scabbard is embellished with various colored stones, as well as a silver skin. Blade is dark, with some pitting, as the photos show. Includes the original red tassel. This sword was brought back from China by a veteran of the Flying Tigers.
