Description: Impressions of Illinois IL Book Christmas Ornament in Library of Congress I am the artist. I've had a couple ornaments on the White House Christmas Tree.In 2005, I was asked to decorate a wooden book for my state, Illinois, by the Library of Congress.That book was 6 1/2" x 4 1/2".This ornament is half the size.It has a green marbled background, though it may look black.It's a copy of the original, copied on paper and decoupaged on wood.I travelled to Washington DC to see it. Though it wasn't on the actual tree, it was encased in a glass case and saved in their permanent collect.I watched the Librarian of Congress reas "The Night Before Christmas" to a ring of children sitting around him.Very moving!I made several at the time to sell, and just found one I had forgotten about.If you are the recipient of one, I hope you enjoy it!
