Incolay Stone Cameo Vanity Jewelry Box Musketeers Gray Ivory Beige Signed Dated

Description: This exquisite Incolay jewelry box features a beautifully detailed ivory cameo pattern on shades of gray and beige. The box is made of stone and is engraved with an intricate 3 Musketeers design. This etched signature isn't easy to read but appears, to me, to look like it starts with EB and then 1975 followed by (an initial?) and then the circled R trademark. There also may be a very lightly etched signature which is impossible to photograph and I cannot even attempt to read. It does look like there is something else there but it is incredibly light. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and does have its original label on the inside along with the velvet lined base. The hinge is in great working order. Incolay (an acronym of in layers of color) is made-up of a variety of crushed minerals such as Rose Quartz, Sapphire Blue, Sardonyx, Carnelian, Onyx and Banded Agate, and the end result is a marbled looking stone. E.M. Bright along with his wife originally came up with this process in 1966 to make cameo jewelry. In the early 1970s they expanded their line into jewelry boxes and trinket dishes.
