Description: Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous bronze medallion celebrating the most famous late medieval French poet Je. Francois Villon. Measuring approximately 2.75 inches in diameter this double sided relief medallion is absolutely phenomenal with one side depicting a nude female while the other side shows a group of figures with a large bird. French writing on the coin reads "En L'an Quartre Cent Cinquatre Six (In The Year 1456), "Je Ris Demes Pleurs" (I Laugh Through Tears). This medallion is in fine condition and is marked bronze along the edge of the coin. I have been unable to find any other examples of this medal making it incredibly rare. Included is the original maroon box.
