Description: IndustrialnatioN was an independent international underground music magazine based in Oakland, California. The magazine was founded in Iowa City, Iowa in 1991 by Paul Valerio. Issue #1 was released as a half-sized black & white xerox fanzine with a press run of 100 copies. It quickly grew in size and depth to document the underground electronic music industry and culture. In 1995 the magazine's home base relocated to Chicago. IndustrialnatioN upgraded to a full-size format (8.5"×11") with full-color glossy cover and newsprint interior. After publishing issue #16 in 1998, the editorial staff take a hiatus from publishing and is widely considered to be defunct, like so many other fanzines from the late 1990s. In 2003 IndustrialnatioN reappeared in the San Francisco Bay Area and laid roots in Oakland. With this move came a drastic improvement in the quality of the magazine, adding glossy and color pages inside. The last issue was published in 2005. Issue #21 – 2005 – Includes interviews with: Skinny Puppy, Richard H. Kirk of Cabaret Voltaire, Client, Ayria, Wilt, Winterkälte, Navicon Torture Technologies, Iris, Mortiis, Black Tape For a Blue Girl, Flesh Field, C-Drone-Defect, Interlace, Mind.In.A.Box, The Residents, Scene reports from Edmonton, Canada and Wave Gotik Treffen Festival, and an in-depth look into the legality of sampling movies in industrial music. This issue includes a fold-out full-color Skinny Puppy poster. Also get a IndustrialnatioN compilation CD
