No sticky parts, very well kept... --- Q&A | PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY --- Why buy this? It's an IR conversion that you don't get anywhere else. The filter combination allows for special false-color infrared styles. Please take a look at the gallery. --- But why an old CCD camera? CCD sensors can handle false color IR much better than most CMOS. CMOS often have strange color edges and blurring problems. 6MP or 10MP is more than enough for most uses - don't believe the Megapixel Myth. --- Why can't I just buy a glass filter for my camera? Firstly, there exists no filter that has the necessary transmission curve. Secondly, I cannot guarantee that the sensor of your camera will react in the same way to the incidence of light/IR and produce the same image. This way I can guarantee that your results will be the same as in the sample images in the gallery. --- And which lens? You can actually use any lens, except perhaps extreme wide angles. I've never had any problems attaching (and removing) the gel filter. And not with hotspots either. The inexpensive (but great!) standard lens 18-55mm is also particularly suitable. --- What do I have to set on the camera? What do I have to do in "post"? 1. Attach the filter. It's best to shoot in M mode or A mode so that you can control the settings yourself.2. Always shoot in RAW (NEF) 3. Do a custom white balance. Select “PRE” in the White Balance options, then “Measure” and take a picture of a neutral surface or just a general shot of your surroundings. 4. Shoot fantastic images :-) --- And what else can I do with it? Actually everything, as the IR transmission is still high. It's a quasi-full-spectrum infrared camera that basically opens up all the possibilities of IR and false color photography, including the classic one with white trees. --- Why should I buy from you? Who are you? I have a good 10 years of experience with infrared photography. I live in Switzerland, where I explore the mountains with my cameras and blog about this exciting hobby. I have been looking for good digital alternatives to Aerochrome for years and have developed the Blue Trees infrared style. Many of these developments came out of a disappointment with the “professional” providers of IR conversions / cameras who always offer the same, uninspiring and overpriced stuff. --- Do you also convert Canon or Fuji cameras? No, a decisive factor is the old Nikon CCD sensor, which is perfectly suited for false color IR. It simply works. Nikon is also far less prone to hotspot lenses and other artifacts. I will probably only ever use and convert Nikons. Sorry! But I think the prices are so fair that a purchase could be worthwhile even for a non-Nikon user.
