Description: Selling 1x Intel Core i9-7980XE CPU. It has been delidded and running a 4.4GHz/4.6GHz all-core 24/7 overclock from 4Q 2019 to 1Q 2024. It has, also, been running a 5.0GHz all-core semi-stable/benchmark overclock on a few occasions from the same period. It was custom loop water cooled during that entire period and I pushed it pretty hard but no signs of degradation or voltage creep [up]. It still runs at the same voltages now as it did on Day 1. This CPU is starting to get old in terms of performance but it would still be a great workstation CPU or a very powerful TrueNAS server CPU if paired with a solid motherboard and some ECC DDR4 memory. If you do buy this CPU, I highly recommend a solid cooler for it! Even under my custom water loop with no other components needing to be cooled within this loop (and being delidded with Coollaboratory Liquid Metal Pro between die and water block), I would easily hit high 70°C with the 4.4GHz all-core overclock, low 90°C with the 4.6GHz overclock, and only spurts of time for all-core/all-thread loads for benchmarks when using the 5.0GHz all-core overclock. You mileage may vary slightly depending on the motherboard and memory configuration. I have included two (2) pictures of how this CPU was cooled in my custom dual loop.
