Description: Inuit Native American Indian Fossilized Bone Miniature This gorgeous carving is truly a gem! Many of these fossilized materials were found when they dug for the Alaskan Pipeline. No animal was killed for this art. Approx. Dimensions: 1” long x 3/4” high x 1/2” deep The musk ox was carved in 1990 signed RB, also purchased by my mother.Unfortunately, the one Horn tip is missing. Otherwise, it is a beautiful little carving. Please look at the photographs in detail. It is much more noticeable in the photograph than it is in person. I only just discovered it when I took the pictures. Price reflects condition. The muskox is a hoofed mammal of the family Bovidae. Native to the Arctic, it is noted for its thick coat and for the strong odor emitted by males during the seasonal rut, from which its name derives. I have more to post so check my other listings! For 3 generations my family owned an American Indian Art Gallery here in Pennsylvania. For 22 years my parents owned a store in Allentown, which I ran for 7 years. We had a lot of knowledge and pride in our traditionally made, authentic merchandise of over 60 tribes (From Canada to South America). We thoroughly enjoyed meeting these artists and having them back for special showings for our customers to meet and learn from them. They stayed in our home and we cherish these memories. My father has passed and I am selling some of his art, I am down sizing, and I am also helping my mother reduce her collection. Please keep checking my listings because I am slowly posting new items over the next year. Thank you and enjoy shopping and adding to your collection! Connie Please view all photos for details.
