Description: For sale is a pair (2) of lunch plates by Iroquois China from the Iro-Tan Ware restaurant line. The heavy 9" plate features a decoration resembling carved wood in cadet blue around the rim. The plate is finished in a light tan base glaze. These plates were distributed by the Charles M. Doucot Restaurant Supply Company, Boston. The plates have a block letter date code Z-4 as part of 1940 production. Both (2) pieces are in good condition with no damage. The plates have served many meals as evidenced by fine surface scratching in a combination of utensil marks and cleaning pads: visible in reflected light. Each has three distinct stand marks on back of rim and random glaze pops including on surface. The plates are marked on the reverse in black for for the distributor, Iro-Tan Ware Iroquois including date code. Made in the USA. Approximate Measurements8 7/8" diameter1" high
