Description: Preowned lot of 31 hand painted Napoleon-themed metal chess pieces by Italfama/Ital Fama. These weighty metal pieces were cast from solid zinc using lost-wax technique and then brass or nickel plated. The red pieces on silver metal are nickel plated and the blue pieces on gold metal are brass plated. Red set is missing one pawn. King is approx 3.6" tall on a 1.25" base. Pieces only - no board. This set is over 30 years old and was played with so paint is fading/coming off in areas as mentioned above and shown in photos. Most of the Italfama felt pads have come off of the bottoms (6 still remain). Ital Fama is known for their exquisite Italian craftsmanship and luxury game accessories and this set retails for $380 and even used pieces hold their value very well.
