Rare blue marble from Italy was made into bookends, One urn shaped bookend is complete the second does not have it's original base (but still functions as a bookend when used upside down). My mom has had these bookends since childhood (she's 87 now). I never realized how blue they were until I took them off the shelf and looked at the other side. The blue runs through the grain of the marble and is quite lovely. Apparently this is quite a rare coloration for marble. Pieces are in very good condition (yes, one is missing the base) but they are not large chips or scratches. Great find.
