Description: Here is an absolutely incredible ticket stub from the Jersey Giants 1946 Opening Day minor league baseball game. Although the ticket stub does not have the year printed on the stub, there was a 2015 auction from H-E-R-I-T-A-G-E that retains the exact same price and look of this ticket. As such, this ticket stub appears to be Jackie Robinson's minor league baseball DEBUT GAME as the Jersey Giants played the Montreal Royals on that day. Further, this ticket stub was found in a scrapbook and the fourth photo in this listing shows in the upper right corner where the ticket stub was pasted in. Notice that all of the surrounding items in the scrapbook are from March and April 1946, exactly when this game would have been played. The individual who kept this scrapbook was meticulous in their archival and thus I am supremely confident that this is indeed Jackie Robinson's debut game. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: I originally sent this ticket stub in to PSA and they declined to grade it. They do not tell the reason why, but I am thinking either because 1) there is no date on the stub, 2) it is not a full ticket, or 3) the scrapbook remnants on the back made the stub ineligible to be graded. Regardless, I believe this is truly a spectacular baseball memorabilia piece and a historical artifact of American history.
