Description: Japanese 42mm bench chisel (oiire nomi) by 2nd generation Kikuhiromaru (菊弘丸). Mentori (chamfered edge). Rosewood handle. New Old Stock. Long term hardware store storage so may have minor scratches and chance of minimal surface rust. Hand forged by Shouji Nagayoshi (Kikuhiromaru II). The newer Kikuhiromaru aren’t made by hand anymore. Kikuhiromaru chisels are a favorite of carpenters in Japan because of their high quality cutting edge at a reasonable price. Thanks for your interest!
