Description: Superb pair of Kyo Satsuma mirrored vases by Kusube Sennosuke, the famous Meiji period Japanese ceramic artists in excellent condition. The vases are signed by the artist. They are in the more stylised design sometimes seen from Kusube with a wonderful jewelled gilded band on the neck of each vase and feature the Satsuma Mons. The glaze has been deliberately crackled to enhance the look of the vases and the gilding is especially deep and rich. It also features a wonderful contrast between the blue and red glazes Kusube Sennosuke (Born 1859) was a famous Kyoto based Ceramic artist working in the Meiji period.
