Traditional lacquerware has been made in this region since the Edo period using raw materials extracted from plant lacquer.A variety of techniques were developed during the Edo period, and this Obon is made using a technique called Kara-nuri, which is typical of Tsugaru-nuri.It was probably collected in the 1970s and 1980s.
