Description: SIZE (Round plate) Diameter: 32cm (Square Tray) Width: 41.5cm Lenght: 29cm (Box) Length: 34cm Width: 46.5cm Height: 7cm total Weight: 3540g This is a set of four pieces consisting of three thin plates of Wajima lacquer (Wajima-nuri) and one plate made of cedar with clam shell design, crafted by Takao Wakashima. These boards can be used as bases (decorative boards) for vases, bonsai, and other objects. In Japan, they are traditionally used as follows: Yahazu-ita: Finished with black lacquer, these boards are named after their edges, which are cut in a distinctive "arrow notch" shape. Some feature red lacquer on the notched sections. They are often used with formal flower vases made of antique bronze, celadon, or blue-and-white porcelain. Hamaguriba: These have edges shaped like clam shells and are available in finishes such as black lacquer, brown lacquer, wax-colored lacquer, or black scratch lacquer. They are commonly used with intermediate-grade flower vases made of cast bronze or glazed domestic ceramics. Marukodai: Originally used as stands for incense burners, these round stands are now often repurposed for flower vases. They come in black or brown lacquer finishes and are suitable for casual vases made of raku ware, bamboo, or other natural materials. Plain wooden Hamaguriba: Often made of materials like paulownia, pine, cedar, or cypress, these are used for casual vases such as unglazed pottery, fired clay, bamboo, or gourds. Condition: used : There are no noticeable scratches or stains, and the condition is good. Ohter Items If you are purchasing more than one item, we will adjust the shipping cost.
