JETHRO TULL,Stand Up,Vinyl LP,VG-,Reprise 6360,Early 70s Re-Press + Pop-Up

Description: JETHRO TULL "Stand Up" 1972-73 US re-pressing, vinyl LP << $3 STANDARD DOMESTIC SHIPPING>> ALBUM INFO: This is an early 70s US re-pressing of JETHRO TULL's 2nd album "Stand Up, first issued by Reprise/Chrysalis Records, September 1969. With this, their 2nd album, there is still an element of blues, but except for "A New Day Yesterday," it is far more muted than on their first album, as Mick Abrahams' blues stylings are largely absent from Martin Barre's playing. The influence of folk music also began to manifest itself ("Look Into the Sun"). The instrumental "Bouree," which could've been an early Blood, Sweat & Tears track, became a favorite concert number, although at this point Anderson's flute playing on-stage needed a lot of work; by his own admission, he just wasn't that good! Bassist Cornick would last through only one more album, but he gets his best moments here, on "Bouree." As a story song with opaque lyrics and jarring tempo changes, "Back to the Family" is the forerunner to Thick as a Brick. "Stand Up" also represents the first album project on which Anderson was in full control of the music and lyrics. PRESSING INFO: This is a slightly later re-pressing, from approx. 1972-73, identified by the all-light brown Reprise label with no mention of Warner/Seven Arts, and accompanied by the Warner/Reprise "Loss Leaders" inner sleeve, dated 1972. For those interested in factory/mastering variations, this was pressed at Columbia's Pitman plant. Comes with original "Loss Leaders" inner sleeve. ADDITIONAL INFO: LP was part of a collection that had been in storage 20+ years in a dry, smoke-free environment. It was cleaned using a VPI Cyclone which works into the discs groove to help remove deep, settled dirt and other surface marks, allowing the grooves to breathe for better stylus contact, helping to minimize surface noise.**Always be sure your turntable's arm/stylus' weight and anti-skate settings are properly set for optimum performance** (See condition details below)Photos are of actual item**All vinyl comes in a protective poly outer sleeve at no extra cost**- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LABEL/CAT #/BARCODE: -Reprise/Chrysalis # RS-6360-UPC/EAN: none TRACKS:SIDE 1:Same All OverChange My WaysCanned HeatSic 'em PigsI'm Her ManTime Was SIDE 2: Do Not EnterBig FatHuautlaGet Off My BackDown In the Gutter, But Free _____________________________________________________________ ITEM CONDITION (see Goldmine Standards below for details)DISC: VPI CLEANED & PLAY TESTED! Been in storage since the early 90s in a smoke-free environment. (see photo) ________________________________________________________ GOLDMINE STANDARD VINYL CONDITION CODES: NEAR MINT/EXC: A nearly perfect record. Disc shows no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling. An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. The same for any inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves etc... EXC- minus: The disc shows some very slight signs of having been played, with very little lessening in sound quality, and barely noticeable, extremely isolated but light surface noise. Labels have minimal spindle marks. The cover and packaging might have slight wear but excellent aspect overall. VERY GOOD+: A VG+ records show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. VERY GOOD: Goldmine price guides with more than one price will list Very Good as many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them. VERY GOOD minus- : Any wear n' tear seen in a VG is more enhanced in a VG- disc but not quite to a G+/G rating. The record still plays through without skipping, so it can serve as filler until something better comes along. But it has some obvious surface noise and groove wear. The labels maybe worn, with ring wear, heavy writing, or obvious damage caused by someone trying to remove tape or stickers and failing miserably. A VG– cover has ring wear to the point of distraction, some discoloring/fading, at least 1 seam split and may have even heavier writing, such as, for example, huge radio station letters written across the front to deter theft. GOOD/GOOD+: Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good+ Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and sometimes visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object. POOR or FAIR: The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon. ______________________________________________________________ MUSICGEEK1's POLICIES & PROCEDURES: PayPal payments ONLY!
