Description: Tatum T-100 Made in Spain It's said and I agree that the most important tool in a jewelry shop is the rolling mill. I bought this off the showroom floor at Stern's Jewelry Supply, Columbus, Ohio in 1986. It served me very well until I closed my trade shop in October 2018. The rollers are polished and smooth, they are 4 inches wide and open to 10mm, and they can be adjusted to open to 14mm. The gear ratio is 4 to 1. I refurbished it myself and it is much like new. A couple of the photos show the front bar as not being black, these photos were taken before I removed the bar and put several coats of a permanent black oxidation on it. Although it has two handles one can easily be removed and it can be used as I used it with one handle. It seems everyone wants a rolling mill that has grooves in the rollers to roll out wire, this imo, is a bad idea, you will never get good quality wire from scrap gold, it's time-consuming and a lot of waste comes from it. It is far better and more economical to order wire from a reputable refinery. In a pinch you can make a gold or silver "button" and then roll it down from side to side making it into a 2mm square wire and then use a draw plate, I've done this many, many times. You will find that the benefits of the wider space of the rollers without groves is the way to go, you will be able to make much wider plates for custom pieces. You won't find a higher-quality manual rolling mill on the market. I was was just asked for a shipping cost to NC. The mill and stand are in an inside storage unit, the mill is sitting on a wooden platform I made, so putting wood sides and a top on it wouldn't be hard, but it is very heavy. I will need to build a wood crate for the stand and handles. The mill weighs approx. 100 lbs. the stand weighs approx. 40 lbs, so two crates are required. I used eBays shipping calculator and the shipping and handling cost to NC is $450.00 I would guess the cost of shipping and handling to CA would be approx. $50.00 more. Pick-up is free. I would be using UPS standard shipping which is four to seven days. I estimate the building of the crates would take two days, so you can expect to receive it within ten days. 3
