Description: This listing is for a vintage medal commemorating Youth Aliyah from Germany to Palestine. Youth Aliyah was founded in Germany in 1933 by Recha Freier. Freier asked Henrietta Szold, the founder of Hadassah, to take responsibility for the youth upon their arrival in Palestine. From 1933-1945, this coalition rescued 11,000 Jewish children relocating them to Palestine. This medal commemorates the first group of those Jewish children to arrive to Palestine. This medal measures 1 1/4" across and weighs 19 grams. It is made of a white metal. Obverse: Pictured are 2 olive branches on the edges and it is captioned "TO COMMEMORATE THE FIRST GROUP OF JEWISH GERMAN YOUTH TO ARRIVE IN PALESTINE". Reverse: Pictures 3 Jewish children standing in front of a building with a monument on top. I has the artist's name "CK STONE" at the bottom in very small letters. This is in excellent condition. Please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee. I will combine multiple purchases to save on shipping.
