First Edition and first impression, signed by author on half title page in green marker. A NF book in a NF dust jacket. Jacket shows some rubbing to the shiny panels as per usual. There is very little, if any fading on this example and that is certainly uncommon. For whatever reason this jacket takes a beating on most examples. Not this one. It it not price clipped. There are no creases or tears. It’s quite nice. Book also NF approaching fine. There is a smudge on the top board edge but other than that, it’s internally clean, the corners are sharp and the binding is straight and solid. A wonderful example, a collectors copy really, of an iconic book which was turned into a film starring Robin Williams. . This is Irving’s 4th novel and perhaps the one for which he is best known. Unquestionably at this time one of America’s greatest living authors. A quick search will reveal it is quite difficult to find a first printing copy of this novel where the book and jacket is in as good of condition as this copy. The spine lettering is frequently sun faded or the jacket is rubbed and scuffed. This is a very uncommonly beautiful copy in really great condition. .
