Description: Jon Alan Birdsong is known for his southwest landscape and wildlife watercolor paintings. The artist has lived in Texas and New Mexico where he was often inspired by the plains and pan handle areas of these two states. Birdsong's has been a professional artist since he graduated in 1967 from West Texas State University. Throughout his career, Birdsong has won numerous awards. During the 1970s, one of his painting was accepted by President Gerald Ford to hang in the White House. This original watercolor painting is typical of Birdsong's landscapes. The scene is that of a woods during autumn. Behind the trees is an adobe house. The artist has used an array of colors to depict the leaves as well as on the ground. Framed, this piece measures 37"x25" and is one of his largest works.
