Description: "Wheel Window Barfreston" Original Signed Limited Edition (4/10) Colour Etching Jonathan Barnes This strikingly colourful, intricately drawn colour etching I think allows a large degree of artistic licences in respect to the surrounding colour ways surrounding this notable wheel window in the Church of St Nicholas Barfreston, in Kent, just south east of Canterbury., Thee is plenty of photos and info available about this window in the 12th Century delightful church at Barfreston, but none that I can find recording any previous colour decoration near the window. PLate 19.5cm x 14.5cm. Sheet 27cm x 22cm. Printed on a white wove paper with a slightly textured surface. The etching is loose, not mounted not framed. Signed on pencil right lower margin, and titled in pencil on the left. In centre denoted as being the 4th pull from only 10 impressions. Condition is very good with no foxing, tears, damage or creasing plate or margins. Colours are particularly strong and well defined. Vibrant. Not dated but I would suspect late 20th or early this Century. My photos are in natural daylight. I do not digitally enhance images. I try to ensure what you see is what you get.
