So, I am up to my knees in DVDs! Literally! I need to find good homes for all the DVD's in this collection, so I will be listing them with little or no description. But check out the photos of the DVD case blurbs, and do a little research online for price and content, and you can get some great deals on these DVDs. I have quickly checked that they load and play, but can't take the time to watch them all and give my opinion/review. JOSHUA JAY "CLOSE UP, UP CLOSE" SET all three volumes by Joshua Jay -- published 2006 (published by L&L)Joshua Jay is hard-to-believe. I don't mean that I find things he says or does hard to believe. What I mean is that I can't believe someone so young can be so smart, so polished, so talented, and so thoughtful about magic. It defies the laws of reality. These DVDs are from 2006 when Jay was in his early 20's (and already a very popular and successful magician), and yet the magic we see him performing has a "maturity" about it -- that is, it is carefully conceived, well-routined, and well-presented. It is clear that Jay takes his magic very seriously, and that he always tries to take it to the next level. Many of the routines are updates (improvements!) of classic effects, where Jay has added meaningful phases, or updated/changed the method, to enhance the overall impact. But there are also completely new effects as well.Jay's presentations are well-worth studying by any magician who wants to see how to put tricks into a meaningful context that the audience will care about and remember. To that end, the DVDs include bonus footage of Jay's full-evening theater show, so you can see even more of his magic than just the effects explained on the DVDs (of which there are over two dozen, by the way!)Want more? (Josh's company still sells the complete set, but for $105) I've got all three of them here so I'll sell them for the great "per DVD" price that I found in my online searching.CONDITION: opened, DVDs are in excellent condition -- cases/labels are in very good condition -- they close and snap shut as they should, but vol 2 and vol 3 cases have a few scratches in the plastic that covers the label. (tried to show a scratch in the last photo -- runs across Jay's lapel in the photo... hard to see. No effect on the DVD playing, of course!). GENUINE L&L PRODUCT -- NO BOOTLEGS SOLD HERE... EVER! Shipping costs hints:USA ADDRESSES First DVD (singles) has postage of $3.95. But if you buy more that one, postage drops significantly on combined shipments. eBay checkout should calculate about $1.30 for each additional single DVD. If you buy a number of DVDs I will refund excess, since shipping cost goes down to about 50 cents per additional DVD after you get 5 or more.
