All are unmarked within and without. The Hobbit evinces light edge wear / rubbing to spine and mild crease to center of same; otherwise in superb condition and largely undiminished in every respect. Covers bright and clean, text block complete, undiminished, with crisp, clean leaves. No markings whatsoever. A very nice, sound reading copy or better. LOTR in Near Fine condition, also unmarked. Jacket not clipped and remains bright and undamaged, save for very mild wear to crown of spine panel and one diagonal crease to upper corner of rear jacket flap. No chips, tears, additional creases, or other damage noted. Book itself is in Near Fine condition. Last 50 or so leaves appear to have been partially subject to light dampness and now exhibit swells to lower third of pages, but no damp staining is evident and the defect does not affect ink/printing of text or illustrations (maps). Otherwise, binding is very sound and square, boards straight and clean, titles (gilt) to spine are bright and complete, corners not bumped, shelfwear, if any, is very minimal, and text block (other than noted) appears to be complete, undiminished, and very fine, with predominately crisp and clean leaves.
