Description: Outstanding 1930s etching of the interior of St. Mary's Basilica in Krakow, Poland by listed Polish artist Józef Pieniążek (1888-1953). Pieniążek studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and exhibited regularly in Warsaw and Krakow. He was a member of the the Association of Polish Graphic Artists, the Ten Artists Group, and Czartek. This etching depicts the interior of the 14th century St. Mary's Basilica in Krakow. It is signed lower right and titled lower left. It measures 15" x 9" (image size) and is in good condition with minor toning of the paper. Framed and matted as shown.
