Made to the exact 1948 state specification that was in use until 1953. K-4 Highway is the longest state route in Kansas, connecting Nortonville to Scott City, crossing through the capital of Topeka along the way. It is among the first highways to have been designated in 1927, when the state route system was numbered with the familiar sunflower signs that are still used to the present day. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. Most of them have vanished from the back roads of Kansas many years ago, replaced with the modern issue. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without paying an arm and a leg on the collector's market. The sign is 15 by 15 inches, and weighs 5 lb. 11 oz. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
