The snap buttons can be fastened at the top to make it a stand-up collar, or at the second button to make it a chesterfield-style coat, allowing for a wide range of styling options. The sleeves can also be adjusted with snap buttons. You can wear it from the beginning of autumn, and in the winter, if you wear a thin down jacket such as the original liner or Uniqlo's lightweight down jacket underneath, you will be able to get through the winter in Tokyo just fine.
