Description: "Karma and Dharma: The Binder - The Liberator" is an 84 page, 6.25"x9.25" hardcover written by Bhagwan Singh Gyanee and published in 1943 for the American Institute of Culture by J. F. Rowny Press (Santa Barbara, CA). The author was exiled from his native India for his nationalist revolutionary activities. "Singh was released from prison in 1920, and he spent the rest of his life publishing books and giving lectures on experimental psychology, mysticism, science, Hinduism, and Indian history. He developed a humanistic philosophy called 'self-culture,' which he defined as a blending of the '[w]isdom of ancient India, but also scientific knowledge gleaned through contacts with Western minds…[]'. Singh founded 'self-culture institutes' in the US and in India as a means of fostering his personal development philosophy." - saada website. The book is in good condition, with no dust jacket. The cloth and paper-covered boards are worn at the edges and corners, have a few tiny spots. The first couple pages are bent at the top corner. Some pages are chipped at the edges where sections were separated carelessly. There's a small, mostly-erased pencil mark to the first page.
