The copyright date on the "Moon Mullins" character pin is 1945 (Artist Syndicate) and is the art of Frank Willard (born Anna, Illinois- Died 1958). The character is based on a down on his luck boxer living in a boarding house. The other pin features a lady character, "Olive Oyl" from the famous "Popeye" cartoons (copyright date on pin reads, 1946 King Features). Popeye is the creation of E.C Segar ( born Chester, Illinois). Both cartoon artists are born in Southern Illinois. These are vintage items with everyday wear, scratches and paint loss as you can see.
