Description: Kelsey Murphy Pilgrim Cameo Art Glass Jar Lidded Vase Dawn Run Cache 1997/1998 Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage, carved Pilgrim cameo glass jar or lidded vase by artist Kelsey Murphy. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This covered jar is carved with male figures in motion; the lid has art deco style designs. The colors are cranberry pink and cobalt blue; the jar is shown lighted so that the colors can be seen. This has a combination of glossy areas and matte/frosted areas. The piece measures approximately 7 1/2 inches in diameter, with a height of about 6 1/4 inches. Unpacked, this piece weighs 3 pounds 0.5 ounce. This piece is nicely finished, with a ground and polished foot and rims. This would be a fabulous addition to a collection of American art glass. Identification This vintage Kelsey Murphy for Pilgrim cameo glass jar is dated 1997/1998. It is marked beneath, as shown. Included with the jar is the original purchase receipt from a gallery in San Francisco; the original owner paid over $700 for this in 1998. Also included is the original certificate of authenticity which indicates that this Kelsey Murphy for Pilgrim cameo glass piece is titled, "Dawn Run Cache." Condition The jar looks great overall, with no cracks or post-production chips. It has very light wear, with some fine scratches to the base. The COA and the original purchase receipt have creases, and the COA has a short rip. The jar rim and the underside of the lid rim have a few teeny tiny fleabites, which are probably from factory grinding, as made; these do not show when the lid is atop the jar, and are only visible upon close inspection under a bright light.
