The surface appears slightly uneven and has visible hammer marks because the blade is shaped by hand hammering so it does not look like a machine made product.The blade is ground on one side and is suitable for right hand use. The single side grind produces a very acute angle for superior sharpness. Ideal for cutting fish.The handle is made from natural wood in traditional Japanese style.
