KERRY The Fire-Engine Dog - 1949 Rand McNally Tip Top Elf Children's Book

Description: Kerry - The Fire-Engind Dog - This is a story of Kerry, a real dog, who became the mascot of Hook and Ladder Company number 29 of the New York City Fire Department. After nine years of faithful service Kerry answered his last call. His death resulted from injuries sustained in the line of duty. Kerry now rests in the Hartsdale Canine and Animal Cemetery, Westchester County, New York. The book is copyright MCMXLIX which is 1949 by Rand McNally Company. The outside shows a little wear and there is a name written in pen on the front and back which you can see in the photos. I don't think this book has been fully opened up to break in the spine, it is nice and tight. The inside illustrated pages are excellent and free from any writings or tears. The first page has a name and date written on it. The book is 6 5/8" x 8 1/4" in size. Please let the photos be the best description. Payment is expected within 3 days of auction ending.
