Roland Kickapoo Logan (1908 - 2000) was born and raised in Kickapoo, Kansas. Hence his adopted name, "Kickapoo." He graduated from Leavenworth, Kansas Senior High in 1926 and played halfback on the football team at Kansas University (Lawrence). He coached at West Point Military Academy and was a Commander in the U.S. Navy. Known for landscape, seascape & Native American paintings, he lived & operated an art studio in Palm Springs, California for many years. His paintings have been displayed in museums and private collections, including the White House, Kansas University, Eisenhower Collection and more. He won the the Positato Prize awarded by the Salmagundi Club of NYC and the American Fine Arts Medal. Purchased from the estate of a retired, decorated U.S. Army Colonel, who graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, where he played football. Very Good Preowned Condition.
