Description: RARE Belgian Original Release Movie Poster On Linen - KITTY FOYLE (1940), Ginger Rogers, Dennis Morgan, James Craig, Gladys Cooper, Dalton Trumbo, Sam Wood, Christopher Morley, Academy Award Winning Best Actress Next up is this beautiful and excellently preserved original Belgian movie poster from the first release of Sam Wood's "natural history of a woman", Kitty Foyle. Starring Ginger Rogers, Dennis Morgan and James Craig this was the story about a hard-working white-collar girl from a blue-collar upbringing who falls in love with a socialite but soon clashes with his family. Rogers won her only Oscar for her highly praised performance. This poster is from the original release of the film in Belgium. It was most likely released shortly after the war in Europe (1946 or 1947) since in is printed on the back of an ordnance map which was common practice due to paper shortages. It is linenbacked and in excellent condition for a poster nearly 75 years old and the artwork is unique to the Belgian release. It rarely comes up for sale or auction and would make a great addition to anyone's classic movie poster collection. Some of the darker map colors do show through to the lighter areas of the artwork and white borders, but is not noticeable from afar. This poster has been stored flat for 14 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
