They are great subs/replacements for a number of vintage transistors that can get noisy over the years, including , 2SA493, 2SA640, 2SA722, 2SA725, 2SA726, 2SA733, 2SA750, 2SA759, 2SA763, 2SA841, 2SA847, 2SA850, and 2SA992. Many vintage Pioneer, Sansui, Marantz, and other brand receivers and amplifiers will develop faint crackling in one or both channels as a result of small transistors going bad, and these brand new Onsemi KSA992s are a great way to fix that.
