Description: For sale : a vintage Solanaware mid-century style blue ceramic baking dish made by La Solana Pottery. It's 7.25" in diameter, 2" deep, and hold 1.25 quart. Solana Ware was first made in Laguna Beach, California in the late 1940's. In the 1950's production moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Solana Ware was made in Scottsdale until the 1960's. They produced mid-century modern style items, and their primary market was the mid-west of the United States. Their products were popular because grocery stores were buying Solana Ware and giving them away as premiums to attract shoppers. Solana Ware was known to be good quality, stood up to heat, and had pleasant colors. This baking dish is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or crazing.
